TikTok LIVE basics

First 30-minute live session

A practical checklist for lighting, audio, pacing, and calls-to-action—so early streams feel intentional, not chaotic.

What you'll learn

Read this section before your mission — every lesson pairs study with a real TikTok LIVE.

Going live is the product. Before you chase trends, tighten the basics viewers feel immediately: can they hear you clearly, see your face without harsh shadows, and understand what the stream is about in the first 30 seconds? Use your first ten sessions to test one improvement per stream: mic placement, framing, a simple intro script, a consistent start time, and one repeatable segment viewers can anticipate. Small wins compound. Notes after each live tell you what to fix next—treat every session like a lightweight retrospective.

Execution

Your mission

This class session isn’t finished until you execute. Learning + execution are one unit — complete both before the next lesson.

Session: First 30-minute minimum LIVE

This lesson’s execution block is a full 30-minute session with pre-live promotion. Block the time first.

  • Post a short video announcing your LIVE (time + topic).
  • Use relevant hashtags on that post and in your LIVE title or description.
  • Share the announcement to your story.
  • Go live for at least 30 minutes in one continuous session (required).
  • Talk continuously — silence loses the room; engage viewers when chat appears.
  • Apply one technique from this lesson deliberately and note what changed.
  • By this stage, aim for at least one LIVE per day when possible — build the habit before you optimize.

Goal

Complete your first structured 30+ minute LIVE with announcement, hashtags, story, and continuous talk.
